Dick Borsboom

President: Avnet Technology Solutions, EMEA

Dick Borsboom serves as president of Avnet Technology Solutions, in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), in April 2007. In this position, he is responsible for the strategic focus and growth of Avnet’s computing business in EMEA.

Borsboom brings to the company his long-standing experience in the multinational distribution and services industry. His previous positions have given him a solid background in business management, finance, human resources (HR) and information technology (IT). As chief financial officer (CFO) and vice president of finance, HR and IT at Flexsys Coordination Centre N.V. in Belgium, Borsboom guided the company to double-digit profit growth.

Before joining Flexsys in 2003, he was CFO for Bell Microproducts in the United States. In his previous six years with the VEBA Group, he began as Director of the Corporate Audit Department for Raab Karcher AG and was subsequently appointed CFO of the VEBA Electronics Group. In this capacity, Borsboom initiated the establishment of the subgroup's headquarters in the United States. The profitable outcome of several acquisitions and disposals under his leadership testifies to his professional knowledge, which includes considerable experience with mergers and acquisitions.

Dick Borsboom began his professional career at KPMG in 1983. He holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands.
