K.P. Tang

President, Avnet Technology Solutions, Asia Pacific

K.P. Tang serves as President of Avnet Technology Solutions, Asia Pacific. He is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of Avnet’s computing business in the region, including overseeing day-to-day operations in China, Hong Kong, Australia, India and ASEAN.

Avnet’s Technology Solutions operating group has three successful divisions currently in the region: Avnet Computing Components, the leading provider of AMD and complementary technology products with headquarters in Hong Kong; and Avnet Partner Solutions, a value-added distributor of enterprise software, storage and servers in Australia, Singapore and Malaysia; and Avnet Computing Services, with operation in Tianjin of China, focuses on providing integration and engineering services to non-PC OEMs and system builders looking to get embedded systems white box solutions to market quickly.

Prior to joining Avnet, K.P. served as vice president of Asia Business Development and Sales for Celestica, Inc., a global provider of electronics manufacturing services (EMS) with operations in Asia, Europe and the Americas. His career also includes more than 30 years with IBM in the U.S., Hong Kong, China and Japan. During his tenure with IBM, K.P. was in Corporate Development with responsibility for forming business alliances and directing investment in a variety of opportunities for IBM including joint ventures, partnerships and international transactions. He also held several other positions and has experience in sales, marketing, operations and business planning.

K.P. holds a Master of Science Degree in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
